The 'Beautiful Leaf Moth', is painted from life by me. No photography, no web images.
I caught him (yes him) in my garden, on my fence actually, and then …well let’s blur over the next bit and jump to the fact that ….he was is set by me in a way that is real to how I found find him in nature.
The moth is painted in gouache with fine detail (00 and 000 brushes).
The scale is true to life, I haven't made it bigger or smaller.
The colours are also true to life.
Being a painting, it has my flair and interpretation, which I hope is why you would want to hang it up.
Painted in gouache as I like the opacity and vibrancy of this medium.
I do not sell prints only originals, and always framed. Though I will paint some insects again and again and of course, they'll never be the same.
This painting is on Arches 850gm Cold Pressed 100% cotton water paper. Yep its thick and beautiful - like the moth.
It is framed, mounted, and glazed with non reflective glass.
Finished framed size is 22.5cmW and 23cmH.
